Aquaponics
Aquaponics is a system for raising fish in basins filled with water by recirculating the water and producing vegetables and fruits (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, peppers, eggplants, lettuce, strawberries, etc.) which are irrigated in the same circuit by water from the ponds where the fish are raised and are produced throughout the year for the needs of the local market.
The waste produced by the fish is used as a source of nutrients by the plants, which maintains a healthy environment for the fish.
Fish Farming
Created in Kinshasa in 2011, KAYALAMI HOLDING SARL is a Congolese family SME organized as a holding company, one of its agro-pastoral activities is fish farming and aquaponics.
KAYALAMI HOLDING SARL through its subsidiary KAYA FISH “mbisi ya congo” is one of the pioneers in fish farming technology in the Democratic Republic of Congo since 2015.
Motivated by a simple passion at the beginning, the industrial vision for the development of this sector has now become a reality.
Thus, after having had to go through a learning phase at their site of Mont-Ngafula, which have about ten basins, the company had to acquire a farm of 252ha in Yoso in the municipality of MALUKU bordered by a river in order to erect its project on a larger scale by combining agriculture, breeding and fish farming, 140 km from downtown Kinshasa.
Type of fish

The Smokehouse
The improved smokehouse is intended for drying and smoking fish. It is divided into four sections: The smoking chambers a ventilation system to allow good heat distribution a thermometer to control the temperature and a chimney for smoke exhaust.
The smokehouse uses wood or charcoal as an energy source
The materials
Our Company provides a range of equipment necessary for fish farming and all activities intended for fish production.
We can also provide you with hatchery equipment and fish feeds to order by relying on our network of partners.
Training
Provide the public with a center of excellence through different training modules intended for all sectors and segments of fish farming.
This is to strengthen the capacity of the Congolese fish industry, by training fish farmers in fish fattening techniques to enable them to develop food security, but also to generate income from the sale of fish as a result of lack of knowledge and skills to be able to work on the profitability of tilapia and catfish farming.
That said, the farm has a pleasant, secure environment and staff for production and training while offering a practical internship in the commune of Mont-Ngafula.
The Kayalami Holdings “mbisi ya congo” fish production targets an intensive production of around 360 tons / year of fish, tilapia and catfish in the very near future to serve the local market of Kinshasa in its phase I and the provinces of Kasai and Katanga in its phase II.
Breeding
The breeding of pigs and goats is managed by a qualified team and regularly examined by veterinarians
Production
Laying hens are available on site to produce good quality eggs.
Reforestation
We have a 2ha plantation that contains a Nursery of Acacia and Eucalyptus Citriodora plants.
